ABOUT US
What exactly is UpRoar!?
In 2014, Spectrum (an LGBT+ and Ally club) and the Diversity Club at Saline realized they both had similar goals as clubs. It was the following year that they merged to form UpRoar!, the school's official SOCIAL JUSTICE AND DIVERSITY council.
Since its inception, the club has dedicated itself to spreading education and awareness throughout communities to make them safer, wiser, and more equitable for all.
WHAT DO YOU DO AS A CLUB?
Glad you asked!
In our club, we have a monthly theme or topic.
The very first meeting of the month is dedicated to the topic's introduction and deciding its focus for the rest of the time.
Each meeting thereafter is focused on research, education, discussions, and project activism centered around said topic.
The last meeting of the month is our OPEN-DOORS meeting where anyone can come (students, teachers, and more). There, people can have delicious food, participate in fun activities, and learn from our very own members about our monthly topic.
UpRoar! offers amazing opportunities to learn and respectfully discuss topics and ideas. Come for the fun atmosphere, enjoy the good vibes, and eat delicious food with your friends while learning about current events and topics in a relaxed, open-minded, and informative setting.
